The Open Exchange provides the following courses for individuals and organisations. Mental Health First Aid – MHFA

 

Overview:

This training helps mobilise and empower adults in the workplace and community by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to another adult experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis.

Learn how to assist adults who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolves using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

Accredited MHFA course that provides MHFA accreditation to every participant who successfully passes. 

 

Key Outcomes:

  • Learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems in other adults
  • Learn the skills to speak openly and accurately about mental health
  • Learn how to respond across a range of situations where the adult may be at risk of harm
  • Learn the ALGEE Action Plan and be equipped with the skills to help an individual with a mental health problem

 

Topics covered:

Depression | Anxiety | Panic Attacks | Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

Audience: Adults who want to learn how to assist and support other adults. Also a helpful refresher course

Delivery Mode: Face to face 10-25 participants

Emotional Intelligence and wellbeing

This workshop describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and use emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management.

 

Audience: The workshop is helpful to individuals who are required to identify, reflect and think about information they collect from a range of personal and interpersonal sources, and who deal with unpredictable problems that involve relating to others.

 

Delivery Mode: Face to face & online 10-25 participants
